Gyroscope Earrings & Necklace
With this tutorial you will learn how to make these lovely earrings and matching necklace. This design is basically comprised of jump rings. For the Gyroscope focal bead a smaller jump ring is soldered to a larger jump ring. The success of this design is in the measurements of these jump rings. I give you the detailed information you will need to create the exact size jump rings that will make this design a success. I also give you a chart of ring sizing in wire gauges and millimeters. This is an invaluable chart that you will use when making rings also. I use 14, 16 and 20 gauge round Silver wire in this tutorial but you will have the choice to use the wire gauges of your choice. The rings sizing chart and measurements I give you will tell you the exact measurements for different gauges of wire used.
A prerequisite for this tutorial is that you have some knowledge of soldering at the beginning/intermediate level. I do not teach soldering in this tutorial. All you need to know how to do to be successful with this design is to cut and solder a jump ring shut. I recommend cutting your jump rings with a Jeweler’s Saw but you can use what ever method you want just so you get a clean cut for soldering.
If you want to know more about cutting jump rings there is a tutorial available here on my website.
